Thanks to Green Vyshka, the Perm campus has been recognized by the Association of Green Universities and, according their 2019 results, is one of the best teams in Russia. As a result, the team was able to go to the Association’s rally in Moscow for free. Green Vyshka welcomes both HSE students and stuff and non-university members.

Activities

Separate collection of waste, including:

• Waste paper
• Batteries
• PET bottles
• Plastic caps

Organization of meetings with local environmental activists, including:

• The chairman of the Society for the Conservation of Nature, Y. Khokhlov
• Anna Kondratieva, author of the popular ZeroWaste blog
• The game store "Land Keepers" with Alina Kolovska, founder of the Center for Conserving Resources in Moscow.

Organization of free trips, including visits to:

• The processing plant PCBK
• Leroy Merlin
• The Department of Environmental Protection and the Smart House of PSTU
• The solar panels and a wind generator at PSTU

Event management, such as:

• ‘Bookcrossing’ (library of buildings 1 and 3),
• ‘Re-clothing’ (December 2017, June 2018, “Kind Heart” on October 19-20),
• A charity collection of items for dogs for the Antidoghunter ambulance station, annually from February 26th to March 9th,
• Trips to animal shelters.

The promotion of an eco-conscious lifestyle and organization of leisure activities for students, including:

• The gradual introduction of a vegan menu in HSE canteens (vegan food can significantly reduce CO2 emissions, as it takes less water and energy to produce food, and does not contribute to the replacement of natural areas with pastures for agriculture)
• Lectures on separate waste collection and “zero waste”
• Holding eco-friendly picnics and holidays for students
• Eco-lessons in schools, conducted in 2019 by pairs of students from the undergraduate and graduate programmes
• The ‘Eco-yard’ in the dormitory courtyard
• Participation in national and international competitions:

1. The Association of Green Universities’ EcoSchool
2. Anna Ostapenko has participated in environmental seminars in Belgium and in Model European Parliament as a member of the Energy Committee
3. "My Natural Territory",
4. "Clean Games"

Organization of the All-Russian Festival VUZECOFEST: ECO CAREER 2018 at the Higher School of Economics, Perm, including:

• Electronics collection - “Dead Electronic Days”,
• Meeting with a representative of the Bumatika company about paper processing in the region
• Green Vyshka’s birthday, with a master class on cooking vegan carob pasta and a performance by a local singer
• Meeting with A. Stepanova, the founder of the store “Unreal Fur Coat: Unreal fur coats from eco-fur”
• Laxmi store’s environmental mission and tasting of vegan products

Organization of the all-Russian festival VUZECOFEST: ECO CAREER 2019 at the Higher School of Economics, Perm, including:

• Excursions
• Eco-yard
• Charity party

Internships, participation in summer schools and forums:

• Lilia Sedova and Anna Ostapenko participated in an eco-internship in the USA for a month in the summer of 2018 as part of the Russia Youth Environmental Programme; both - coordinator and volunteer - worked on a project about eco-lessons, together with the Society for the Conservation of Nature and PCBK
• Anna Ostapenko, Lilia Sedova and Irina Kucheva interned at the U.S. RYEP project (2019),
• Anna Ostapenko trained at Environmental Seminars in Belgium (2018),
• Tatyana Bulatova went to the “Territory of Meanings” eco-gathering in Moscow
• Anna Ostapenko went to the Climate School in an eco-settlement
• Lilia Sedova trained in Romania (2019)
• Tatyana Bulatova and Anna Ostapenko participated in the International Renewable Energy Forum in St. Petersburg (October 2019)

In the dormitory there is full separate waste collection, which is carried out by Ecotaxi.
